The dark side of the wolf spirit animal
The dark side of the wolf totem: Sensitivity about feelings of threat
A wolf totem animal can represent a perceived threat or feeling you are being threatened. The presence of this spirit animal could be a reminder of an event, situation or a person you feel threatened by.
The wolf could reflect something that may have a “predatory” feel to it and instill a feeling of vulnerability that is not reassuring. Encountering your spirit animal in such a way invites you to look at who or what in your life is having such an influence.
Perhaps your spirit animal is warning you about challenges with personal boundaries: You may feel you have exposed yourself too much with someone or in a certain situation and need to pull back or strengthen emotional or physical boundaries with that person or in the context of that experience. The wolf as a spirit animal could also remind you that you’re facing stiff competition at work or that the behavior of people around may feel like you have to deal with a “pack of wolves”.
The wolf as representation being guided or misguided by instincts
Since a common meaning for the wolf spirit animal emphasizes the role of instincts, having this animal as a guide or totem could point to your relationship with how you live your life, and more specifically how you trust or mistrust your instincts and intuitive guidance.
Check whether you feel threatened by your own instincts and feelings. The presence of your wolf power animal could reflect your inner emotional landscape and bring to your awareness your own feelings about a matter that is highly emotionally charged.
Dream interpretation of the wolf spirit animal
The dream meanings associated with the wolf point to powerful instincts or habits that could be experienced as aggressive or dominating by others. Wolves in dreams convey the energetic imprint of strong sexual energy or addictive behaviors of different kinds that would benefit from being kept in check.
If a woman dreams of a wolf in a nightmare or anxious dream, she may be getting in touch with anxiety relating to a male partner who may be pushing his sexual desires very strongly or pushing her boundaries. The intensity of the relationship can cause fear and be experienced as a threat that the wolf symbolizes in the dream.
If the dream has a positive tone or outcome, the wolf could be interpreted as a guiding symbol for trusting your instincts more or expressing them in a more balanced manner. If you have such a dream, ask yourself if you feel at ease and supported by your instincts, especially your sexuality or a partner’s sexual expression, or other types of “cravings” in your life.

Once I had a dream,
Well I was a white wolf with blue eyes end I was walking through a forest. There were five wolves waiting for me they accepted me in their pack they gave me a name which was Ora, the dream faded and I haven’t heard from them since.
I wish I knew what was going on can somebody help?
Hey, a good wat to interpret dreams is to think about what were you feeling while having this dream, but based on what you said I think that it represents a new beggining in your life. Also I got intrigued by you dream because I once dreamed of me as a white wolf with green eyes, and as a leader of a wolf pack of approximately 5 wolves, inside a snowy forest.
I just had my experience.I was in a wooded glade with a small pond and I was a snow white wolf with three black stripes on my head. There were nine other wolves but they were grey. I felt like I was in another world. They were sitting on boulders over looking the pond and me. I heard them give me a name. It was Oomara. They said if I needed guidance just ask and I will receive. But it would only come in riddles. Then they left and I saw myself through the pond, but I was on my bed with my eyes closed.
Has anyone else had this experience? If so please help me to better understand my spirit wolf.
Whoa! I got wolf and thats my favorite animal! it always has been. i draw them pretty well and have studied them since i was 8! wow!
Just because you like wolves doesn’t mean it’s your spirit animal. I loved wolves since I was 7 years old but I realized my spirit animal was a tiger
wow, i now understand why i have been having weird dreams, about a year or two ago, my friends made me believe i was a “dreamwolf” kind of like a werewolf, but only when the person falls asleep, their soul tears in half, the animal half traveling to an unhosted animal body somewhere else in the world. i would dream that i would wake up and do some things with my pack, i was leader somehow, not exactly alpha, but leader, since we were a mix of wolves and foxes. there were many elements in these wolves and foxes, i possessed all elements, every night, we would find something to do to help the planet stop dying, every time i woke u, i would be sore as if i had done just that, and when i went to my friends to talk about what had happened, they had known all about what i was talking about, and they even brought up some things from my dream, should i really believe in this stuff, i stopped a little, but some of me still screams to believe in the wolves and foxes trying to clean the world, also, i have a strange way with all animals, they listen to me as if they can understand them, and some part of me screams that i can understand them as well
when I was a young child I used to awake in the morning to look out the window and to see a white wolf staring back at me this happened for as long as I could remember but only when I stayed at my grandparents house I’ve been in three serious accidents that people cannot explain how I walked out unharmed
My spirit is named snowflake I’m confused I want to summon it but I don’t know how anyone have any tips??
Okay so I tried to summon my spirit animal last night and when I woke up I had bruises all over my shoulder and I seem to not remeber my dreams I ussualy do so this is really strange anybody have an explanation
Hey, I’ve had a similar experience to most of you. One night when I was 10 years old I had a dream about a wolf. I was in this really dark canyon and I was lost. The only thing I saw was a large white wolf starring at me with bright blue eyes. It looked at me like it wanted me to follow it. So I did. It led me to a cave and inside was an old map pinned to the wall, showing me where I was. It happened to be in the canyon near my house. Suddenly I woke with a start. The next day I decided to go see if that cave in my dream was real, and of course it was. And in it was the scariest thing I had seen in my life. The same wolf from my dream. But it was trapped underneath a bunch of rocks. I dug him out and brushed him off, despite the danger he possessed. But when I got him out he stood up and licked my face. I had never been more shocked in my life. But now I’m 13 and the wolf just happens to be my best friend. And now I find out my soul animal is a wolf too. That’s just freaky. Is there an explanation to that or is that just an amazing coincidence. Someone please tell me!
My name is skylar and I saw a black wolf with yellow eyes sitting in my yard staring at me naturally I freaked out and I was already scared BC my closet had just collasped out of no where I went back inside immediately after seeing it then I got a flash light to see who was in my closet I went to walk around the back of the house and about five feet away I saw it again the wolf was black with glowing eyes and silver pieces of fur strands in the black it just watched me and I know I wasn’t asleep I was already scared and my pregnant Stepmom was in the house I haven’t seen it since but I really wanna know what it means someone please help.
I have had two dreams that had wolves in them every time the first one I was being chased back one then the rest of the pack joined in I woke up screaming then fell back to sleep and the second dream was like this I was out for a walk it was dark out I heard some kids playing on a hill that was near by and it was in the winter the kids were sledding down the hill but before I saw the kids go down the hill I saw a pair of eyes in the tree line and at the bottom of this hill there is like a open area no idea what it use to be but the kids went down there so I ran after them and as I was running I looked to see if I can still see the eyes well nope so I ran into the woods that is right beside this hill and well I looked up into the tree line again and all I can see where like 3-4 wolves running as well and then I woke up but I also had a dream about coyotes after watching a video on youtube of a guy doing a coyote call and the coyotes calling back well that was my dream but instead of the coyotes standing way back the gave chase to me
Hi, I had a very strange dream, I was in a forest and In it I was a grey wolf next to me a white wolf, this white wolf was teaching me things, i don’t know what.. and then 2 wolves started to follow us, one was black and HUGE, the other one was grey, “we” the white wolf and I hid behind some furniture??!! ( is a dream OK?), I knew this wolves were Stalking us but they couldn’t find us because we always kept the wind in our faces, The white wolf started walking away to follow the other grey wolf and I in a blink found myself biting the huge black wolf neck and leaving it expose for the white wolf to finish him off!! then… I woke up. really wierd.
When I heard spirit animal I immediately thought Wolf and I always have. I don’t know why I feel this connection. I also feel like a have a similar jaw bone/ structure like a wolf
ME TOO!! maybe we are part wolf but just don’t know it yet
Last weekend, I went to a wolf sanctuary. When I first arrived until about 30-60 minutes after, I felt quiet, thoughtful and respectful of the wolves, felt their feelings and felt strangely connected with them, feeling the annoyance of being gawked at.
The guides there were talking about a wolf they had there that liked to “kiss,” or lick people. People took pictures with him, and he licked them all over their faces. When it was our turn, or for my family and I, we took a picture, and the wolf licked my parents all over their faces, ignored my brother, and calmly and respectively looked me in the eyes, almost as if he knew me all his life. I looked back, and we stared at eachother for a few seconds. It was suprisingly amazing, despite it being brief and simple.
I’m pretty sure my spirit animal was my deceased pet cat (mentioned in the “Cat” section), but it could be the deer, or the wolf, based on this, but I’m stumped.
Wow, that sounds like a very interesting experience. Why does everyone get stuff like that and all I get is loads of homework and no dreams or outings at all?
Maybe I should give more of a description of this wolf? He was a gray wolf, with a darker forehead, and had a bit of a limp. He was the alpha of his pack at the sanctuary.
(BTW, AA333go is my Minecraft username)
I have always wanted to see a wolf in real life, and not just on the National Geographic Channel. The problem is that I live near the equator and I think the nearest wolf habitats are either in Australia or in Europe. I just love studying their socialisation behaviours. It’s such a coincidence that my favourite animal is the wolf, and my spirit animal is a wolf. I wonder how many more years it will be before my wish will come true, and I do hope it’s going to be a friendly encounter.
Me too wolf or I don’t remeber anything
I love wolves but I can only see them at the zoo.when I see one, even a picture I feel drawn to them.I can’t think about some one hurting them.when I do I feel angry.I want to do something about it, but I can’t.I don’t know what to do!
