When lion spirit animals warn about challenges
This spirit animal could point to one of your weak spots or a difficult situation you’re experiencing. The lion animal spirit guide is perhaps showing you the way to deal with the issue and keep going with the courage it also embodies.
Lions could also represent an authority that may feel overpowering or a conflicting relationship with power and authority. When you see a lion as a spirit animal, it could symbolize external power, authority, forces that dominate or rule parts of your life. For instance, if you dream about a scar or threatening lion, it may remind you that you need to deal with an overbearing boss, partner or teacher in your waking life.
Lion spirit animal, symbol for anger & personal struggle
Seeing your lion spirit animal could be an invitation to control your temper or your moderate aggressive impulses. For instance, observe if you could really listen to what people have to say before striking back at them. Or explore how to express your needs or anger more openly and constructively to reduce your level of frustration.
If you are dreaming of being chased by a lion, it may represent a situation that brings about personal struggle. Common dream scenarios with threatening lions are as follows: A lion suddenly appears in your dream. You feel threatened by this wild animal known for devouring its prey with no mercy. The lion is now preying on you. You’re trying to escape, but it is still behind you, chasing you like you’re about to get devoured.
Dream interpretation: Being chased by a lion
This lion dream scenario is classic. Dreaming of being chased by a lion is one of the most common themes featuring this creature in the dream world. The lion chasing you generally connects to the struggle the dreamer is experiencing regarding feelings of anger or aggression in waking life.
The dream about your lion spirit animal could point to anger you may feel towards someone or aggression that is directed at you. Being chased by a lion in a dream could be a warning from your animal totem that you’re struggling with these feelings and how to express them. The lion totem could mean that you’re having difficulties dealing with a situation where someone is mean or aggressive with you.
Scary dreams about lions
Terrorized by your lion dream?
This kind of dream is expressing in strong images what you actually feel within. The meaning of your lion dream is symbolic and likely represents the intense psychological or emotional tensions you are experiencing in your waking life. Dreaming about a lion in this way is an invitation to examine what’s happening in your life that is causing tension and despair.
Most likely, you’re facing a challenging situation or behavior that is hard to comprehend at a conscious level and the lion appears as a spirit animal to help. It may be too hard to deal with or seem unacceptable to you and therefore is rejected out of your awareness, a bit like a protection, a defense mechanism. The presence of your lion spirit animal could be a warning to pay attention to a situation or person who’s creating worries or concerns for you.
On a positive note, a terrifying lion is likely indicating that you’re in the process of becoming more aware of the issues at hand. It works as a reminder that whatever is bothering you in your waking life needs to come out in the open to be dealt with. Bring forth the courage that lion totems symbolize.
Lion spirit animals in dreams: When the lion bites you
A lion that bites you in your dream could be a warning from your spirit animal and signify that you’re feeling overwhelmed in your waking life. The source of worries could be about feelings you or someone else may have or a situation that is particularly challenging. The image of the lion bite is a strong call to look at what’s going on in your life that could feel threatening or dangerous before it really “bites” you.
Another interpretation of such lion dream is to ask yourself what is dominating your life these days and see if you can bring more balance.
Scary images of lion spirit animals and the “shadow self”
When you are scared by the presence of your lion spirit animal, whether it’s in dreams or in waking life, this could be an invitation to look at your “shadow self”. The shadow self is a part of yourself that you prefer to keep “in the shadow” or the dark. In other words, a part of yourself you would hide or reject because it’s not likeable, you or other people think it’s unacceptable, not worthy, etc.
Your spirit animal indicates the need to look at these aspects of yourself and resolve the tensions inner conflicts may create. For instance, by just starting to acknowledge parts of your “shadow self”, looking at them, perhaps understanding what they are about, what they are connected with, you can start bringing a better understanding of yourself.

Hi
Early morning my dream was, the lions are attacking on me and I am facing them. Facing like closing the doors of my old home, closing the lift when it is running, protecting my family and running away from lions
how it could be, Positive sign or negative sign
This is a positive sign. This dream is showing how strong you are and how you are willing to fight of lions to protect your family. In the wild, Lions from different tribes often fight one another for land or female lions, so this is showing that no matter what happens in life, you spirit animal (the lion) will be there to fight alongside you!
Hi,
I need help with the interpretation of this dream:
‘In the dream, I was visiting Japan for business and people treated me very well there. (By the way, I’ve never been to Japan in my waking life nor have any kind of relation with the culture or people). I was in a city and a pride of lions escaped from the local zoo. The lions were hungry and terrorised the city. I was watching everything on TV when one of my hosts asked me to follow them to the top of a mountain for safety because the lions were coming closer and closer to the place. So, my hosts took me to a shopping on the top of the mountain where we sat for a drink at a window table in a restaurant. After a while, few lions came in to the wall and started to kill people randomly. The restaurant has a glass sliding door that was closed to keep people inside safe. A lion chased a woman close to the door and in horror; she banged the door asking someone to open it. Without fear or worries, I run to the door and opened it, the woman came in and I stood fearless between the lion and the woman defending her. Surprisingly, the lion were trying to get the woman between my legs or arms but did not attack me. At the end, it stopped trying to get the woman, took a look at me and decided to go for other people outside the restaurant. So, I closed the door and woke up puzzled.’
I cannot understand why I was not afraid and the lion did not attack me. Another detail, I am not a business person at the moment but I am thinking to become one if I get funding for my start-up.
Please, could you help me with the dream interpretation? Thanks!
I had a dream that a lion was on my back porch and we were both facing each other. It was calm and friendly and allowed me to pet it. Does that have any significant meaning??
My dream was a lion licking my hand what does that mean?
Hi there, I had a dream that the lion was licking my hand. What does that mean? And why is there no positive feed about lions in dreams.
My dream was I was at home I went to the garden to see my dog he was laying in the sun with my sisters dog as I turned slight left I noticed a big yellow face watching me it was a female lion as I looked around the rest of my garden there was lots of male and female lions enjoying the sunshine under willow trees (which I don’t have)
The female looking at me has a slightly misty left eye she is not threatening just slowly slinking towards me I realise I have a huge lump of meat in my hands I start pulling it apart throwing to the different lions and the dogs and feeling heavy in the chest but happy at the same time.
The feeling has not left me since having this dream 3 nights ago and the beautiful yellow face as if it was looking into my sole.
I had a dream where I was pushed into a valley with lions (females). When they realized I was there they ran towards me I aggression and I lowered my head thinking they will certainly kill me. As they stood in front of me they didn’t attack me at all but licked me. 2 lions did this before I woke up. Any interpretation would be appreciated. Thank you!!!
I had a dream trying to tame a lion and two lionesses. I was using a soda bottle to hit their teeth but they could not break but could only weaken until I despaired,I was troubled for what next would happen but unfortunately I woke up.
I often dream of lions. Lions, hyenas, leopards, bears and wolves to be precise.
I’ve always lived in Africa and have had many interactions with lions.
In my dreams there is always a pride of lions around my house, or at the bottom of my garden. There is always fear in my dream. I can’t shake the feeling it gives me. I’ll wake up suddenly and try and sleep again but the dream will pick up again where it left off.
It usually goes like this: there are people in my home, not always family. Sometimes they’re strangers, sometimes what few friends I have. The lions are always trying to get into my home, devouring those I care about. It gives me a very eerie feeling to be relaying this. Other nights I’ll dream I’m walking and there will be a shadow following me, a male lion. I know its there but its also not. I’m scared to run and I’m scared to make any quick movements. Its the same with the dreams of wolves and bears. The wolf I feel even when I’m awake. This feeling of being watched, and its always the same. I always imagine it as a wolf more than anything.
I can’t stand the feeling of being scared by mere thoughts. What is this all about?
Hi Anne, how often do you have these dreams? How intense are they each time? I do cognitive therapy and have some suggestions for you if you want on how to decrease fear related to these dreams.
I had a dream I was taming lions and was riding them, conquered by me. In this dream I felt so powerful.
There are ways you can rehearse other outcomes like perhaps taming them or saving the people in your home to decrease anxiety and actually change your dreams.
Let me know if you want more specifics on what to do.
I dreamed two lionesses just beside my bed. I was sleeping in my dream. One lioness pushed (without bleeding) her claw on my back near shoulder and woke me up. When I woke up, I saw them, but did not frightened but had slight fear (but in a way that I could sleep again). I had this impression that they are protecting me although I had this slight fear.
I wanted to sleep again, but they started to do something private (was not sex obviously, because both were female, but I could understand what was this private business). This made me curious so I wanted to watch, but one of the lionesses turned her head looked at me (meaning I should turn the blanket over my head and not see). As I was going under the blanket, I was sneaking but she kept looking at my eyes in the dark, so I went under the blanket and kept going (with the same slight fear). because I thought she is very concern that I should not look. I slept again with the image that she is looking at my blanket that am i sneaking or not.
Can you tell what does this dream means?
Sorry for the typo, I couldnt Understand what was this private business*
I had a dream a huge male lion was fenced in around parts of my house. It was so big it could jump the fence. It kept getting into my house. We tried to tranquilize it and it didnt work. My son and I kept hiding from it. At one time it even talked to us, But still wanted to attack us. I woke up just as it leaped to get us. In reality I found out I may have diabetes. And Ive been scared that my son will get it bc its hereditary. Im guessing that the lion represents diabetes and the fear of it.
my dream goes like….I see my family in a huge tower , we r put up on 25 floor, the entire floor has one apt. I see someone, a girl, terrified and entering a hotel and the hotel wall is brought down by the lion. further I see a boy taking an elevator to go down while the lion takes the elevator to come up. it presses random buttons and arrives on 25th floor. I see the boy back in the lobby of the 25th floor watching the lion nibbling the shoes. this boy I am talking about isn’t like my brother. he tries to trick the lion into going back downstairs but the lion is enraged. while inside the boy shuts all the doors but we can clearly hearing the roar and pounding of the lion. further I see news, I see that my father and his political party is out on streets trying to help the trapped public. the lion tears open the wall and enters the house. then I see another guy who has his head in lioness’ mouth trying to inject it. he is successful but he dies. he is shown as my frnz bf. I see my mother in kitchen with rolling pin unafraid that therez a beast inside the apt and attempting to shoo it away. the boy who was seen earlier is trying to call the attention of the political party. next I see the lion lying unconscious on the floor. my mother unworried as ever and my father celebrating as he was able to save the day.
