Dear one, hear my gentle call,
For I am the deer, the spirit animal tall.
With grace and elegance, I roam through the land,
A reminder of beauty, simplicity and grand.
Through the forest, I move with ease,
Adapting to life’s changes with poise and with peace.
Observe my fluid movements and be inspired,
For in them, your own grace shall be admired.
With antlers, I carry the power and the might,
But also a reminder of our fragility and the light.
Embrace the balance within yourself,
For in it, true strength and peace dwell.
Dear one, hear my gentle call,
For I am the deer, the spirit animal tall.
I remind you of the harmony and interconnectedness,
For in it, true inner peace, you shall possess.

Great! This will help me achive my new goal! I’m so happy :) Happy Deer :)
Oh my goodness, that pun though! :D (I’m a deer too!!)
There seems to be a lot of Deer here…Yeay! In the 90s, I did a lot of work with Jamie Sams’s Medicine cards which practices with several totems for the individual: the four directions, above, below, within and walks along sides, right and left. I took this quiz and lo! and behold got “Deer”, and Deer is indeed one of my totems. So nice to have Deer pay me a visit today, as a reminder of what I have NOT been paying attention to, lol. Thank you for the quiz and the lovely explanation (and the reminder, too :-) )
I don’t understand it says my inner animal is a deer but then my spirit animal is an owl. I don’t understand but it did help me see my life situation a little bit more clearly now. Curse you curiosity!
Yackie, we can have many animal helpers in our lifetime. Perhaps Deer is here to guide you through your inner work while Owl is here to help you see your way in the world? That’s only a suggestion, but you can talk to your animals directly to find out more. Just sit quietly, imagine meeting with them in nature and asking them. Listen with your heart for their answer. Pay attention to any subtle feelings or images that arise. I hope this helps- and forgive me for just jumping in here!
I got the same results as you :) We are similar!!
lets go to the gym alreadyyyyyy
who cares

Um I care.
Deer Harry Potter,
I read your novels (well, at least the back covers of them) and the lack of crows sickened me. Your comment suggests that I do not care, when, in fact, this website has changed my life. I was once a homo sapien like you, but now I am an actual crow, typing with my talons on my owner’s phone. This message has taken me three weeks to type. If you care about having a spirit animal of a deer (doe?), then that is fine with The Crow, but please heed my advice: be on the lookout for any signs of turning into a deer. Spirit animals are very real; just take one look at my small, feeble, crow-like body as evidence.
Godspeed,
the crow
jk I’m just a human with a spirit animal of a crow, trying to behave more like a crow everyday. No hard feelings. Have a nice day.
CA-CAWWWWWWWWW
That just made my day crow
And so do I.

Kinda hard to read about grace and gentlenss right next to a shock add titled “Ellen lied!”
Not against ads, but maybe select something fitting for the page/
If you care to read this, this was not the animal I got on the quiz. I was told I was more like the bear. In all honesty, I believe this is my spirit animal. I was going through one of the most challenging times of my life. Take note, I am only 18 years old. I worked at a pizza place during this time which was about 4 months ago. I was miserable there and after two years, I finally quit. However, one day I picked up a stack of empty pizza boxes while talking to a co-worker. Something feel from the stack and landed on my foot. She bent over to pick it up and then handed it to me. It was a squished penny, from one of those penny-squishing machines. These multiple stacks of boxes were all the way in the back, no where near the cash drawer. The penny had a deer on it. She told me things like that are odd and that it was a sign. Two or three days later, I was driving home from a terrible day at work. It was late and I was exhausted. My headlights flashed onto a deer still in a yard. At first I thought it was one of those plastic ones people set up in their yard, but it wasn’t. No one was around so I slowed and eventually stopped. It was a buck that just stared at me. He didn’t run or move. We just stared at each other. I didn’t want to scare him so I drove away. A month later, probably around my hardest of times, I went on a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo with my family. We ended up on the wrong side of the Deer Yard and could not enter. I poked my hand through the fence towards a deer. The deer approached me without fear and gently began to lick my hand. He wouldn’t stop! My family thought it was so odd because he wouldn’t do it to anyone else. Some of the zookeepers pointed at us and were talking. I felt a little special to be honest. Well, after that, things began to turn around. I quit my job and got a new one at a pharmacy and since then my days have been nothing but happiness.
Beautiful true story of how the universe responds to us. Congratulations on the deer choosing you, for whatever reasons it did… best wishes in your quest, Kelly. I’ve been going through incredibly difficult times myself and am waiting for an inspiration like yours… you gave me hope today with your story. Thank you… Namaste
Oh my gosh, I know, right? The quiz said I was a butterfly, but I keep having creepy dreams where I am a deer, though my personality is more like a wolf… I DUNNO!!! Is my spirit animal a deer or a wolf? And I’m pretty sure I’m not a butterfly, because I have no connections and it doesn’t match my personality.
Your Spirit animal could be all three. The wolf can guide you through moments that you need to be brave. The butterfly to represent your curiosity and kindness. The deer to show your inner peace and kindness and love. Just an idea.
I’ve been meaning to look this up for quite some time now. It makes a lot of sense with what’s been going on in my life lately.
This summer my boyfriend came home from work one day and told me that there had been crying coming from the woods all day, from when he got there at 6am until he came home at 4. When I asked what it had been, he said no one knew. Only one of the employees had gone up the hill to the edge of the woods and didn’t see anything. He feared it was a bear and the mother would be near. I couldn’t believe that if something had been crying all day that no one would check, but with the logic and what I’ve heard about mother bears, I can understand the caution. I also thought that it was likely that whatever it was had probably moved on by the time I’d heard about it.
The next day I get a crazy craving for veggie tacos and only the coop where my boyfriend worked had all the ingredient. I’m not really one for cravings, but this one was undeniable. As I pulled into the parking lot with my boyfriend at midday the first thing I heard was crying. I was appalled that still no one had checked on the poor thing now that it was the day after. I headed up the nearly right angle hill and through the trees and mosquitos I went. It stopped crying as I approached, probably frightened. As I stopped looking around to figure out where I should go, I look down and next to some barbed wire and half way under a log is a baby deer. It had somehow managed to get a baby tree wrapped completely around it’s neck. Stunned, I told my boyfriend to go call animal control in case a vet was needed. I sat next to the poor thing feeling instantly protective of it.
It’s lying on it’s belly limbs were at awkward angles and I’m afraid to touch it in case I hurt it. Then I look at the barbed wire and come to the horrifying realization that it’s possibly cut. I didn’t see anything from what was exposed, but it could have easily torn it’s belly. Torn between not wanting to hurt the baby deer and fearing for it’s life thinking I could run to the nearest vet if I had to, I decided it was safer to check. I gently unwrapped the tree from around it’s neck and lifted it up. Not a scratch. I was so relieved. It was then that it started to try to run while I was holding it. I didn’t want to let it go because I was now worried about it being alone without a mother and wanted to hear from animal control what I should do. So I comforted it to show it I was not there to hurt it. Soon the baby deer was cuddling with me and even trying to suckle. It was like I’d known it all it’s life.
My boyfriend and I waited for a call, the cops, anyone for the entire afternoon. It wasn’t until I called the police department directly that I got an answer and I did not like it. They said to leave it so that it’s mother could find it. I was worried that a deer so small and already left for 2 days possibly was abandoned and wouldn’t make it much longer in the heat. The cop agreed that it was callous, but was what animal control had said to do. I at least go permission to give it water before I went. Distraught I googled what to, convinced this was the wrong answer. I was much more comforted, I found an article saying that fawns (baby deers) are hidden by their mothers during the day and night when they’re very small so as to not draw the attention of predators. They come back at dusk and dawn to feed it and move it every night, so if it wasn’t there the next day, I would make another call and get this baby deer to a loving sanctuary or something. It pained me, but we left that little baby where we’d found it and worried the rest of the night.
The next day I was pleasantly surprised that the baby deer wasn’t there anymore, that it had probably just stayed there because the baby had been stuck and the mother probably couldn’t get it out. I can’t imagine that poor mother’s distress. And by the way, it’s a myth that the mother won’t take it once it’s been touched, that’s birds.
But everything about that encounter had an “other” feel to it that I’ve been trying to understand. Why had no one else gone up there? Why was it me? Why did I have such strong cravings that inevitably lead me to it that day? Why did I bond so immediately with it? How on earth did that deer get so helplessly tangled? I still don’t feel I’ve fully grasped it or maybe there’s nothing to be grasped, but this does help.
I don’t really believe in shamanism, but something weird has been happening in the past couple of years for me. 2 years ago, I moved across the country. That same year, I dreamt that I was a deer fawn. I didn’t feel as if the dream meant anything to me. I had normal dreams then on, until this year. It was the most intense one yet. This time, I was a deer again, but it was different then the other one. I was being shot. I was running so fast, and I was so scared. For some reason, I knew I was a deer, yet I was small enough to easily run under a bush about a meter high. Was I still a fawn? It didn’t feel like I was, which was weird. During the final shot, I actually felt it, in my leg. And I still felt it when I woke up. It was so creepy. So, now I know what it’s like to be hunted, and I feel more sympathy for deer now. Maybe I was supposed to feel this way? I still dunno. This is why I have a strong feeling my spirit animal is a deer. I haven’t had any deer dreams since. So, please, reply telling me what to do!
Guys, I forgot to add some stuff to my comment. First off, I read the description of the deer spirit animal, and where it says about new regeneration, I had these dreams when I wasn’t feeling so great in my new home. Strange connection, I know!
Also, I tried meditating, haven’t remembered to ask for my spirit animal in my dreams, and everything, but I haven’t seen anything. Help!
