Snake spirit animals, symbols for healing
The snake is close to earth energies and represents life force. Since it’s a reptile, the snake spirit animal is reminiscent of unconscious drives and primal instincts. When the snake spirit animal shows up, pay attention to how you use your energy, and where you draw it from.
If you see the snake as your spirit or power animal, be sensitive to your healing abilities towards yourself or others. Cultivate sources of energy and support, especially as they relate to the earth and nature.
In ancient traditions as well as modern times, snakes are symbols of healing powers and opportunities. In the Greek mythology, Aesclepius, the god of medicine, is featured with two snakes climbing up a rod, the symbol of what is known today as the Caduceus.

The snake and spiritual guidance
The snake can symbolize spiritual guidance. The presence of the snake in your life often means that you are in a period of transition and it points to ways promote your personal growth.
Snake could appear as a spirit animal when you are stepping into the unknown and need support to move forward. This animal is typically close to the ground and can remind you of staying grounded as you move through changes.
Dream interpretation of snakes
When a snake appears in your dreams, it most likely acts as an animal spirit guide inviting you to look at important facts or dynamics that are impacting your life. Snakes featured in dreams often leaves a strong impression on the dreamer: Such dreams tend to be frightening or disturbing because they call on strong unconscious energy.
Whether the snake spirit animal featured in your dream leaves a positive or negative impression, its presence should be considered as an invitation to look at positive changes and transformation.
The dark side of snakes in dreams
When the snake appears in your dream leaves you with a negative feeling, make sure you consider positive meanings as well. The snake spirit animal often appears in dreams as a warning about personal struggles and the need to pay attention to things or events that are escaping your field of awareness.
For instance, when you dream of being bitten or attacked by a snake, it could mean that you need to be careful about important matters you’ve been ignoring so far. If the spirit animal featured in your dream in the shape of a snake is chasing you, it may represent a challenging situation or relationship that you have been avoiding and is pushing you around.
The bottom line is that a dream featuring a snake invites you to check what in your life is “poisonous” and to look at important matters before they sneak up on you and create more damage or difficulty.
Meditation to connect with your snake spirit animal
Take a deep breath in and breathe out. Close your eyes and let yourself relax into a peaceful state. Listen to the sound of your own breath, and allow all other distractions to drift away.
Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a lush green forest. Feel your feet firmly planted on the ground, and sense the warmth of the sun beaming down from above. Look around and find a tall, strong tree with its roots deeply embedded in the soil. This is a sacred tree; it holds great wisdom for you today if you are willing to listen closely.
Feel your body connect with this ancient tree; feel how it radiates strength and stability as you draw closer to it. Now, look up at its branches as they twist and turn up towards the sky like an ever-changing tapestry. Amongst its leaves, you spot something glistening – it’s a snake! The sun reflects off its smooth scales, creating dazzling patterns that seem almost magical in nature.
Welcome this snake spirit animal, for it comes bearing important messages of transformation and awareness of what lies in the shadows. Listen to what the snake has to say, and find courage within its silent wisdom. As you observe this part of yourself, let its teachings guide you toward new beginnings and a greater understanding of your own inner power.
Looking more closely at the snake and its graceful movements, you feel deeply connected to its energy. Allow your awareness to travel through each scale one by one, noticing any area of potential growth or transformation.
The snake spirit animal stands for ancient wisdom and creative power; it symbolizes death and rebirth, going beyond boundaries and limitations. It encourages you to be more aware of your innermost thoughts and feelings and what lies beneath the conscious level of your being. The snake is also a representation of healing – both physical and emotional.
Use this moment to allow yourself to be guided by the power of this spirit animal. Feel how it can shift the energy in your body; notice any areas that feel heavy or stuck, allowing the serpent’s energy to move through you and help release any tension or resistance.
Feel the grounding energy it brings, connecting you with your inner wisdom and strength. Now is the time for self-reflection – take note of anything that comes up during this meditation, whether a thought or an emotion – and explore these feelings further if need be.
As you bring this meditation to a close, feel your feet firmly rooted to the ground, and imagine a wave of energy undulating through you from your feet all the way up to the top of your head. Notice any release or expansion that comes with this wave, and take some time to just be present in this moment.
Thanks to the snake spirit animal for its wise teachings, and acknowledge all you have learned. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. You feel refreshed and connected to the wisdom of the snake within yourself as you take this knowledge with you into your day.
An inspiring message from your spirit animal
Hear my silent whisper,
As I slither and glide,
I am the spirit of transformation,
The serpent by your side.
From the depths of the earth,
I rise to guide your way,
Through the trials and tribulations,
Of each and every day.
With my venom,
I bring healing,
And the power to let go,
Of the old and the worn,
And to welcome the new.
With my scales,
I remind you,
To trust in your own strength,
And to face your fears head-on,
With courage at length.
So heed my call, dear life traveler,
And allow me to guide,
Through the journey of self-discovery,
And to help you rise inside.

I have lived in the same house for 15years and have never seen a snake. I went out on my back patio and felt something was watching me. I turned around and saw what I think was a Copperhead laying in the space between the cement patio and the house. It head was pointed directly at me and as I moved it moved it’s head turning it as I went back in the house. Having been chased by a water mossican once, I don’t like snakes. I told my room mate since her cat was outside and when she went to look a few moments later it was gone. I live in a regular neighborhood about 15 minutes from downtown, busy area a few blocks over. I know there is meanings when you see an owl, I have a Great Horned Owl that lives in my neighbors tree that always talks to me, very chatty. Is there a meaning behind seeing a snake watching you, it was creepy since I felt something watching me then the way it followed me walking by moving its head slowly from left to right.
I always encounter snakes in my dreams..it always seems to chase me…i dont know what does that means or symbolise in my life and more often i see protecting my younger brother and my mother from d trouble in my dreams, please tell me what does that means…??
Om My god, ruchi, reading your post gave me goose bumps. I experience the same snake dreams since childhood except that I protect my mother and elder sister. I see this huge snake in my dream. Have you found any explanation so far?
(Doesn’t get to the snake encounter until the middle of this) I had a dream where I was driving and stopped to explore a green field. It was covered with vibrantly green trees on my left and right while the middle path was just a field. Except for one tree. It was so pretty and bold in my dream. I remember it vividly. It’s bark was a honey color and the leaves took on a yellow-gold hue unlike the other trees. And it stood alone, in the middle of the field. It’s branches were all twisted and curly, like something out of a Tim burton movie. I remember being in awe in my dream and climbing it and just observing it. I laid under it for a while and then somehow was back in the car. This time someone was driving and I was in the back seat. But as soon as I entered the car there was a rather large snake coiled around my right arm. It instantly reminded me of the tree, possibly because after I visited it the snake appeared. The snake was white but it had a pattern of yellow-gold like diamonds outlined in black on its back. Like the tree. And the eyes were also yellow like. I was shocked but not scared. Since in real life I actually love snakes. I’ve wanted one from a young age. So it was pleasant. It didn’t have a threatening or ominous aura or anything. And then it uncoiled and went for my left arm. When it left my right arm finally, where it was left a weird mark/engraving. Or a symbol. It was the imprint of the snakes shape when it was coiled but certain parts extended like the branches of the golden tree I saw.If it weren’t for the odd coloring, it could’ve been mistaken for my veins honestly. I remember looking at the snake upon seeing this and it did that tongue thing. This whole time it never did that until I noticed the mark it left. And I’m extremely baffled by the hidden content there may be in my dream. Because usually my dreams are weird but they usually seem unimportant and just jumbled meaningless stuff. But this dream had so many different aspects, I was surprised when I remembered it as soon as I awoke. Also I have like a.. I don’t know how to put it correctly (if there is a correct way), but I see my dreams in a certain format?? Like I don’t see it through my eyes as the character in my dream. I see it as a third person??[ EX: when you’re watching a girl run through the woods in a music video. ] I feel like I’m the viewer if that makes sense? And I don’t know if that’s common or if all dreams are like that. But I usually see my minds version of me in a dream from a third person point of view. And I seem to follow the “adventures” of me throughout the dreams I have like some sort of narrator or viewer. And I never see through the eyes of the character(me) itself. But this dream was different. I was the character and saw through its eyes. This dream was just so weird and a new experience. Btw, I’ve never dreamt of a snake before this dream.
I had a snake dream once. So I dreamnt i was in bed but the bed was white! And then there was a bunch of snakes in my bed but the bed turned into a bath tub and they started wrapping around me until there was darkness and I woke up and went back to sleep. The dream continued and I dreamnt that I had snake skin. Woke up and couldn’t go to sleep again. Please explain

My Mom passed away on Dec. 31, 2014. Today is July 26, 2015. I had a dream if a snake biting down on my Yorkie Sadie. I tried to get the snake off of her end got bite by the snake too. Some people helped me in to the building and a woman comes running in hollering where’s Becky where’s Becky and I woke up. Don’t know what happened to my Sadie. So what could this mean. I have been a little depressed with some anxiety causing my chest to hurt.
Here’s my situation.. our corn snake keeps escaping from his tank. Twice now. First time we found him behind the tank 12 hours later. Most recent he got out 3 days ago and last night at 3am I went to move my pillows around and felt him by my head. I sleep on a palate on the floor, so it was easy for him to get there… but has me really digging deep for a meaning. Any thoughts?? Side note, I have had a tapestry over my sleeping place since I was born that has a unicorn and a snake. The unicorn is my favorite animal. Snakes have been very present in my life. I’m just so puzzled at what could be going on in my world.
I had a dream of a snake. It is kind of blurry but I remember cutting the bottom half of the snakes head and then it was floating in water. I’m not sure if my daughter did it and I was covering for her or I was saying she did it (in my dream I was thinking one thing and saying another) and then someone picked up the snake and said it was dead. At the end of the dream I threw up and then woke up thinking I was actually throwing up. This is the first time I dream of anything like this.
I have had several strange dreams lately, and I’m aware my health is in poor condition (seizures, heart disease, pacemaker, and more). I am unsure if any of these dreams are about my health or my past which I seem to be missing a rather large chunk of? One dream is a strange orangish colored snake, which I step on, I don’t know if it is alive, but it doesn’t bite me, scared me though, and I was sad to have stepped on it… It’s head I should say I remember clearly it was the head I stepped on. Another dream there were 3 pythons one head inside the other.
