Snake spirit animals, symbols for healing
The snake is close to earth energies and represents life force. Since it’s a reptile, the snake spirit animal is reminiscent of unconscious drives and primal instincts. When the snake spirit animal shows up, pay attention to how you use your energy, and where you draw it from.
If you see the snake as your spirit or power animal, be sensitive to your healing abilities towards yourself or others. Cultivate sources of energy and support, especially as they relate to the earth and nature.
In ancient traditions as well as modern times, snakes are symbols of healing powers and opportunities. In the Greek mythology, Aesclepius, the god of medicine, is featured with two snakes climbing up a rod, the symbol of what is known today as the Caduceus.

The snake can symbolize spiritual guidance. The presence of the snake in your life often means that you are in a period of transition and it points to ways promote your personal growth.
Snake could appear as a spirit animal when you are stepping into the unknown and need support to move forward. This animal is typically close to the ground and can remind you of staying grounded as you move through changes.
Dream interpretation of snakes
When a snake appears in your dreams, it most likely acts as an animal spirit guide inviting you to look at important facts or dynamics that are impacting your life. Snakes featured in dreams often leaves a strong impression on the dreamer: Such dreams tend to be frightening or disturbing because they call on strong unconscious energy.
Whether the snake spirit animal featured in your dream leaves a positive or negative impression, its presence should be considered as an invitation to look at positive changes and transformation.
The dark side of snakes in dreams
When the snake appears in your dream leaves you with a negative feeling, make sure you consider positive meanings as well. The snake spirit animal often appears in dreams as a warning about personal struggles and the need to pay attention to things or events that are escaping your field of awareness.
For instance, when you dream of being bitten or attacked by a snake, it could mean that you need to be careful about important matters you’ve been ignoring so far. If the spirit animal featured in your dream in the shape of a snake is chasing you, it may represent a challenging situation or relationship that you have been avoiding and is pushing you around.
The bottom line is that a dream featuring a snake invites you to check what in your life is “poisonous” and to look at important matters before they sneak up on you and create more damage or difficulty.
Meditation to connect with your snake spirit animal
Take a deep breath in and breathe out. Close your eyes and let yourself relax into a peaceful state. Listen to the sound of your own breath, and allow all other distractions to drift away.
Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a lush green forest. Feel your feet firmly planted on the ground, and sense the warmth of the sun beaming down from above. Look around and find a tall, strong tree with its roots deeply embedded in the soil. This is a sacred tree; it holds great wisdom for you today if you are willing to listen closely.
Feel your body connect with this ancient tree; feel how it radiates strength and stability as you draw closer to it. Now, look up at its branches as they twist and turn up towards the sky like an ever-changing tapestry. Amongst its leaves, you spot something glistening – it’s a snake! The sun reflects off its smooth scales, creating dazzling patterns that seem almost magical in nature.
Welcome this snake spirit animal, for it comes bearing important messages of transformation and awareness of what lies in the shadows. Listen to what the snake has to say, and find courage within its silent wisdom. As you observe this part of yourself, let its teachings guide you toward new beginnings and a greater understanding of your own inner power.
Looking more closely at the snake and its graceful movements, you feel deeply connected to its energy. Allow your awareness to travel through each scale one by one, noticing any area of potential growth or transformation.
The snake spirit animal stands for ancient wisdom and creative power; it symbolizes death and rebirth, going beyond boundaries and limitations. It encourages you to be more aware of your innermost thoughts and feelings and what lies beneath the conscious level of your being. The snake is also a representation of healing – both physical and emotional.
Use this moment to allow yourself to be guided by the power of this spirit animal. Feel how it can shift the energy in your body; notice any areas that feel heavy or stuck, allowing the serpent’s energy to move through you and help release any tension or resistance.
Feel the grounding energy it brings, connecting you with your inner wisdom and strength. Now is the time for self-reflection – take note of anything that comes up during this meditation, whether a thought or an emotion – and explore these feelings further if need be.
As you bring this meditation to a close, feel your feet firmly rooted to the ground, and imagine a wave of energy undulating through you from your feet all the way up to the top of your head. Notice any release or expansion that comes with this wave, and take some time to just be present in this moment.
Thanks to the snake spirit animal for its wise teachings, and acknowledge all you have learned. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. You feel refreshed and connected to the wisdom of the snake within yourself as you take this knowledge with you into your day.
An inspiring message from your spirit animal
Hear my silent whisper,
As I slither and glide,
I am the spirit of transformation,
The serpent by your side.
From the depths of the earth,
I rise to guide your way,
Through the trials and tribulations,
Of each and every day.
With my venom,
I bring healing,
And the power to let go,
Of the old and the worn,
And to welcome the new.
With my scales,
I remind you,
To trust in your own strength,
And to face your fears head-on,
With courage at length.
So heed my call, dear life traveler,
And allow me to guide,
Through the journey of self-discovery,
And to help you rise inside.

Last night ( Sat 18th July ) I had a dream of two giant Boa Constrictor snakes laying together in parallel and stretched out straight over a mountainous rock ledge. They were known as “The Council”. Then I saw a third similar looking snake much longer, also laying in parallel with the first two and it was called Pinburra Man.
Next I was talking to a young Aboriginal boy asking him to tell me everything he new about his ancestors and these snakes called The Council and the Pinburra Man. He knew very little, but I was anxious ( but not scared ) begging him for more information. Pinburra Man is the Shaman or Witch Doctor for The Council and the one that I was asking the most about to the small boy.
An internet search has not bought up anything related to these beings or names in Aboriginal legend.Any information about this would be appreciated. I have no aboriginal lineage in my family.
Pinburra man sounds familiar? o.O
You do know that burra in Spanish is ass? I mean this in no way to disrespect you or your dream, but do you have any Spanish in your family?
HI,
I need help to figure out what my snake dream means. I’m married and will soon get a house with my husband. In this dream the snakes were like they were chasing after me and I could hear them hissing. I remember jumping up from them. One of my son’s were in this dream. It was night time and we ran into the house.
im fairly certain, but don’t want to make you feel harmed or frightened, and i don’t want to cause relief either. typically when a “spirit animal” if chasing you in a dream, this usually means the spirit animal is telling you things arent right. What i mean by this, the spirit animal is telling you your life is going in the wrong direction.
i dont know why your son would be in the dream.
Last night I dreamt that I was walking the sidewalk in front of my church. One of the youth pastors yelled, don’t go that way, snakes are down there. I looked and there was 2 snakes in the grass. Both huge like giant size. The size of humans almost.one bigger than the other. The big one came up to me and stared me in the face. I only gasped because it moved so fast but I wasn’t afraid. The youth pastor snatched him from me and he also snatched the other one. Next I continued to walk and I could see snakes moving slowly in the grass and I yelled hey there’s snakes every where but I continued to walk as if I was not bothered by them. Of course I woke up frightened but calm in the dream. 2 nights before that I dreamt about spiders in spider webs.
Hi,
Please help me understand my dream, Last night I had a very funny dream holding a big snake, I was holding it from the head opening its mouth in a way that it does not bit me nor spit it saliva. My youngest daughter was holding its tail and we were not scared of it instead we were swinging it up and down and showing it to my mother and other people indicating that we have defeated it. Please let me hear your comment.
i have been dreaming of snakes my whole life what does this mean! snakes doing all type of things… most recent i have dreamed of a snake around a mental ill woman head and moving around her neck and she wasn’t scared it seemed as if it was choking her but she just kept unwinding it if it got to tight. i don’t know how i know it was a mental ill woman i just knew and it was people around like they didn’t even notice. i saw this looking out a window in my dream and i was freaking out. I’m just sick of dreaming of snakes they freak me out!!!
In a recurring dream your unconscious is trying to give you a strong message. Dreams are there to try and to balance you. Google Voice dialogue”” or Hal and Sydra Stone, they are 2 psychologists who developed the voice dialogue system, which ties in with your dreams. I too dream allot about snakes (I have identified snakes for 20 years ,Australia)”
Basically we are all made up of different “sub”personalities”, for example, you react and behave differently to different people and in different situations and environments, depending on your upbringing. If you were raised to be “nice and Pleasing”” and to not be selfish, they you will be attracted to the opposite as you dont know how to express “selfishness”. If you are too strongly associated with one side of your personality, your dreams will bring up the opposite. for example, if you are too nice, then you might dream that bad people are chasing you. (scarry dream) In dream interpretation, look into seeing how you feel about the dream, if you are scared then that usually represents the part of you that you dont express. In your dream the snakes scare you, which means the snakes are representing part of your persona that you dont express and need to. Only you know what they mean to you, for me I like snakes in real life, and generally snakes in my dream dont scare me, s they would have a different meaning for me than to you. This is why these generic dream interpretations I find hard to understand. Best of luck

Snakes have been thought of as a symbol of healing in numerous cultures. They devour rodents that destroy food reserves and carry disease and pestilence. Native peoples of the America SW considered snakes as a positive symbol, often associated with bringing the rain an water essential for life in this arid climate.
Considering the above, one possiblity is that the snake in your dream represents healing, a cure, or an improvement in the patient’s condition. That they are continually unwrapping the snake (symbol of healing) could mean that they are resistant to a treatment that would help or, even, cure them.
I have recently got laid off from my job. I have been on a constant job search. Have not been too successful yet. I woke up at 4am worried about how I’m going to manage. I am the only income in my household. So stressing seems to be my thing these days. I fell back asleep and was in a dream and was around all my excoworkers out in the shop. Was walking in towards the office and a snake jumped out and latched onto the right side of my neck, and I fell trying to pull it off and another one dove at me and latched on to the right side of my neck and God knows I am absolutely terrified of any reptile. Will not even walk in the reptile cave at the zoo when I take my grandchildren. I was horrified and felt numb. I jumped out of my sleep horrified. What does this mean exactly.

First off, are culture raises us to fear reptile and snakes. In actuality, snakes and other reptiles are essential to us and extremely beneficial in controlling insects and rodents, as well as the desires and destruction they can bring. Most farmers like snakes in their barns and grain bins in order to keep the mice and rats in check.
Regarding your dream, considering your work issues and that it involves work (coworker), it is possible that the snake represents a “healing” of this situation (a chance for a job or income). That they attach to you may mean that you are ignoring or not seeing the possibility. Since it involves a specific coworker, the job/income may involve them – even an idea they have, someone they know, or something you have worked on together.
Think back and review any ideas for a job or income that involves your coworker or, even, your prior job. Chances are your subconscious mind has a solution (healing) to your problem that your conscious mind has not grabbed ahold of yet.
around 7 AM i saw in my dream two bodies and one head snake. i bath that snake in water and after that i jump on my bed and they finding me on floor and finally they saw me and come close to me and open his mouth and i sadenlly wake up. can you tell me what happen for this dream
A quick guess: The bodies represent two people that are sick or that are in need of your help in some way. Your bathing of the snake is to help you obtain (learn or absorb) healing properties or even to become aware of ideas that may be helpful – even to obtain the solution that can help these two people. The snake with the open mouth is either trying to tell you something or else to get your attention – trying to make you aware that you have the ability to help (or to “heal”) these two people.
At the end of my yoga session during my meditation I had the image of snakes surrounding my feet. Normally I would have reacted, but I remember my instructor telling me to work through things when they appear, so I did. They untangled themselves revealing a white snake with tan and black spots who gently moved by me and into a grassy stream. I’ve just started a 2nd round of chemo. How blessed to have snakes appear :-)
Blessings to you! I’m so happy that your snake appeared and let’s you know that the spirit world so with you and guiding you!
Yes, indeed.
Dreams are subject to many interpretations, but with snakes representing healing, my first thoughts are:
1) That the numerous snakes represent treatments to cure you, and the white snake represents a slightly dirrerent treatment, which is your cure.
Or
2) That the numerous snakes represent times when you were sick and struggling/desiring to be better. The white snake represents healthier days and, perhaps an end to your struggles and a fulfillment of your desires.
If this is a correct interpretation or not, I would say that this dream is a very, very positive sign!
I’ve dreamt abou black snakes all of my life. Since I was a child (although I haven’t seen a black snake In real life).always before a natural disaster. So I am inclined to agree with this “wisdom”. Recently i drempt about a whole nest of black snakes one on top of each other in some kind of thick oval shap.the snakes were hissing and showing their fangs. I wasn’t In the dream as a image, but I was there I knew the snake could sense my presence.there was a tornado warning, I went outside and the weather was incredible. I felt like I had no control, like my life could he lost at any second and there was nothing I could have done different. I welcome black snake dreams any day. Thank you for letting me share.

In my dream a coral snake grew out of my hip and down my leg and I walked around with my hand behind its neck so it wouldn’t bite me, though it didn’t try.. I was trying to find someone to kill it but I woke up before that happened.
I wonder if your dream is about a your own sexual energy? Are you holding it back?
