When lion spirit animals warn about challenges
This spirit animal could point to one of your weak spots or a difficult situation you’re experiencing. The lion animal spirit guide is perhaps showing you the way to deal with the issue and keep going with the courage it also embodies.
Lions could also represent an authority that may feel overpowering or a conflicting relationship with power and authority. When you see a lion as a spirit animal, it could symbolize external power, authority, forces that dominate or rule parts of your life. For instance, if you dream about a scar or threatening lion, it may remind you that you need to deal with an overbearing boss, partner or teacher in your waking life.
Lion spirit animal, symbol for anger & personal struggle
Seeing your lion spirit animal could be an invitation to control your temper or your moderate aggressive impulses. For instance, observe if you could really listen to what people have to say before striking back at them. Or explore how to express your needs or anger more openly and constructively to reduce your level of frustration.
If you are dreaming of being chased by a lion, it may represent a situation that brings about personal struggle. Common dream scenarios with threatening lions are as follows: A lion suddenly appears in your dream. You feel threatened by this wild animal known for devouring its prey with no mercy. The lion is now preying on you. You’re trying to escape, but it is still behind you, chasing you like you’re about to get devoured.
Dream interpretation: Being chased by a lion
This lion dream scenario is classic. Dreaming of being chased by a lion is one of the most common themes featuring this creature in the dream world. The lion chasing you generally connects to the struggle the dreamer is experiencing regarding feelings of anger or aggression in waking life.
The dream about your lion spirit animal could point to anger you may feel towards someone or aggression that is directed at you. Being chased by a lion in a dream could be a warning from your animal totem that you’re struggling with these feelings and how to express them. The lion totem could mean that you’re having difficulties dealing with a situation where someone is mean or aggressive with you.
Scary dreams about lions
Terrorized by your lion dream?
This kind of dream is expressing in strong images what you actually feel within. The meaning of your lion dream is symbolic and likely represents the intense psychological or emotional tensions you are experiencing in your waking life. Dreaming about a lion in this way is an invitation to examine what’s happening in your life that is causing tension and despair.
Most likely, you’re facing a challenging situation or behavior that is hard to comprehend at a conscious level and the lion appears as a spirit animal to help. It may be too hard to deal with or seem unacceptable to you and therefore is rejected out of your awareness, a bit like a protection, a defense mechanism. The presence of your lion spirit animal could be a warning to pay attention to a situation or person who’s creating worries or concerns for you.
On a positive note, a terrifying lion is likely indicating that you’re in the process of becoming more aware of the issues at hand. It works as a reminder that whatever is bothering you in your waking life needs to come out in the open to be dealt with. Bring forth the courage that lion totems symbolize.
Lion spirit animals in dreams: When the lion bites you
A lion that bites you in your dream could be a warning from your spirit animal and signify that you’re feeling overwhelmed in your waking life. The source of worries could be about feelings you or someone else may have or a situation that is particularly challenging. The image of the lion bite is a strong call to look at what’s going on in your life that could feel threatening or dangerous before it really “bites” you.
Another interpretation of such lion dream is to ask yourself what is dominating your life these days and see if you can bring more balance.
Scary images of lion spirit animals and the “shadow self”
When you are scared by the presence of your lion spirit animal, whether it’s in dreams or in waking life, this could be an invitation to look at your “shadow self”. The shadow self is a part of yourself that you prefer to keep “in the shadow” or the dark. In other words, a part of yourself you would hide or reject because it’s not likeable, you or other people think it’s unacceptable, not worthy, etc.
Your spirit animal indicates the need to look at these aspects of yourself and resolve the tensions inner conflicts may create. For instance, by just starting to acknowledge parts of your “shadow self”, looking at them, perhaps understanding what they are about, what they are connected with, you can start bringing a better understanding of yourself.

I dreamed that i’m in a very dry place, like a dessert. There some different types of animals on that ground i clearly saw monkeys and lions. suddenly lions are running after monkeys and i started to run as well. I took off like an airplane and started flying straight. i saw myself up in the clouds, i couldn’t see the earth or anything, but some power was pulling me back and tiring me out. when i saw back one of the bigggg lions was flying behind me and his body was straight too. i felt that i didn’t had the power to fly further ahead, i decided to slow down and let the lion go ahead. i flied backwards and changed my direction, lion look at my face, like i had hurt him, but i couldn’t trust him.i didn’t know what he was up to.All this made me really tired and out of energy.
I dreamt of a lion that got out of a cage and then bit me on the arm I screamed for help but nobody helped me I could literally smell the blood in my dream and the anguish
I had a dream about me and my sister, most of the memory of the dream is still vague but I remember there being a lion that appeared and seemed to attach itself to me. I hugged it and felt comfortable with it there, like a friend or companion. My sister meanwhile began taunting me with a large and particularly aggressive spider that flew round the room & seemed to focus its energy on me. While I was being attacked I forgot about the lion.
My dream. A large lion curled up on the floor beside my bed. My kitty is beside him on her haunches, passing at him. He is getting irritated and is threatening to squash her. Then I awake.
Later that day, I go into work at a thrift store, and there is a wall hanging with the Isaih passage, the lamb lies down with the lion. There is a big lion on it. I go inside and a lady is shopping, buys some things and tells me that she is buying them as a costume for her daughter who is going to be a lion.
A few days later, I am looking up a biblical reference about Veronica, who wiped the face of Christ as he walked to Calvary, and an imprint of his face appeared on the cloth. The image, is called tge Mandylion!
So I’m thinking there is something about the Lion, I’m being asked to acknowledge. Oh yes, and by the way, im a Leo.
Sounds like your spirit is looking for some grace amongst the strength of the lion. Grace, or tenderness toward self where usually there is demanding energy or an unwillingness to back down from demands on self. Maybe focus on self-love and care this week :)
I am like a lion but never had a dream of one unless mountain lion counts it was a good dream, the mountain lion was protective and cute like many animals :3

I tried asking for help on this question, but I didn’t get a clear answer. So I’ll ask again.
I had a dream where lions and wolves were at war, and the lions won. What could this mean?
Lions are so fucking awesome.
Hi Laura, I’m no expert on this but from reading about the meaning of the animal totems on the Website it sounds to me like you might have some concerns or fears that have you worried in your daily life, possibly someone questioned your loyalty, that was the war and the Lions winning is your personal courage and strength overcoming an instinct of some sort that you had Regarding that situation the person or people involved. As I said I’m not an expert and this is just a guess.
I had a dream I was walking alone through a zoo, then a lioness came out on no where and began to follow me. I was scared because I could see the cruel intention in her eyes. She cough up to me and had my hand in her mouth. It didn’t hurt but I was so scared that at Amy minute she was going to bite it off. I saw some people in the distance and I screamed for help but it seemed that they couldn’t hear me. At some point the lioness just let me go and she disappeared, I walked into a building and headed for the bathroom hoping to find my family.
I had a dream that a Lion was in my parent’s basement and I was being chased and it caught up to me and ate me. I then woke up afraid. I went back to bed only to dream about the lion again. This time I was with my brother when it showed up. We ran and got away from it. My cousin showed up out of nowhere and was caught and eaten in the back room of the basement. I was able to lock it in the room after this happened. Then my friend showed up and went to use the restroom near the back room and opened the back room door and disappeared. I then saw the back room became the backyard and it (the lion) was pacing back and forth smelling the air for prey. My mom and aunt showed up, and my aunt went to use the restroom and then my mother and I were standing there. I told her to leave but she wouldn’t listen so I pulled her and we fell down some shallow staircase. She couldn’t move, and neither could I. I tried and tried, and finally mustered up the strength to get up and carry her out of the basement to safety. Then I woke up. What could this mean?
During a particular trying phase of my life, I saw a lion enter the room I was in. It lumbered across the room and ambled up to me. It wanted to sit on my lap. It was huge. It was neither friendly nor frightening. Purely animal. I allowed it to climb up into my lap. It didn’t look at me or face towards the situation (person) I was dealing with. But just having it there suddenly gave me a great sense of protection. After the person I was dealing with left the room, so did the lion. It just climbed off my lap and left the room. I never saw it again. But felt its presence two other times when the person was near me, in the coming weeks. I never thought of lions before this happened. But now, I love them.
I once looked into a mirror.
My face had morphed into a lion, i wasn’t frightened or scared, but more “interested” it just looked at me dead in the eye, as if it was trying to say “I know! I know it all! and eventually you will see for yourself too” it kept its “educated stare” and stared me down a little bit before disipating again. I spent a while meditating and searching inwards to see what i might learn.
what i did learn was that the path i ha chosen in life up to that was point wasnt quite right. I spent a good 8 months basically watching myself from a third person perspective, as if to be taking notes on my basic instinctive reactions and feelings foreverything. I noticed that i would very quickly react to a situation in a bad way, e.g i’d freak out if something bad happened, or i might be quick to anger. I could slowl begin to see that these reactions were skewed and so i began to try and de-programme these instincts. Instead of over-reacting or being quick to drop what i was feeling and just go with the instant gut feeling, i’d take a step back, stay calm and be able to function in a better way, so far its worked wonders!
maybe i’m just too analytical as a person, but results are results i guess, and life has been ever so much more positive since! :)
I strongly believe in personal growth, and am always happy when the option arises to be able to share with the people you love, and any connections youve made, impossible to break!
but that’s just my two cents haha
Peace & Love!
Thats amazing :D
