Butterfly totem and transformation
The butterfly is a symbol of powerful transformations. By analogy to the development of this animal, the meaning associated with the butterfly emphasizes the ability to move from one state, perspective, lifestyle to another.
When the butterfly comes into your life as spirit guide, you may be going through or expect important changes in your life. More than changes in your environment, the transformation the butterfly totem points to are more internal: They could be related to your own perspective on a subject, aspects of your personality, or personal habits. Julie – it’s funny that you are the first name on this list – that’s my legal name, but I go by Jules. I also had a significant loss, due to my Grandmother’s Alzheimers, and it was the hardest thing I have ever gone through — truly transformative in ways that are still occurring I think. PAULINE – I’m so sorry for your loss. Have you ever seen “Patch Adams,” with Robin Williams. There is a very poignant butterfly scene in it. Love that movie. CAROLYN – Flutter by Farm is a good name! I’m also thinking something about grace or changing for some reason. :) Blessings!

I am sorry for your loss, Pauline. After my mother passed away from dementia in 2014 I asked for a symbol to know she was all right. Butterflies came to me and I accepted that as a good answer. I lost my aunt on September 9, 2015, the same day that Pauline buried her son. I have been seeing images of butterflies and some real butterflies, and I like to think that my aunt is still with me. I think that Pauline’s son wanted her to know that he transitioned but is not gone.
WHY ARE WE ALL ONLY GETTING BUTTERFLIES?
it’s really weird because i’m actually pretty terrified of butterflies
I feel very in touch with butterflies and have just moved 800 miles and built a house. I am planting a butterfly garden and I want to name my ‘farm” a with a butterfly hononring name. Does any one have any ideas???
Flutter by farm :-)
I love butterflies
It weird because Butterfly’s are my favorite animal
Funny enough, I have a 5 inch by 2.5 inch tribal butterfly tattoo along my waist that ive had for 3 yeara now. I got it at 18 when getting out of an abusive relationship that left me very mentally ill, and it was to represent how I would transform from that point on until my death (heal and improve myself). Funny enough, I had wanted a butterfly tattoo before ever even being in that relationship, just it gave it meaning. I have always loved butterflies for no particular reason,I just did. I’ve had a lot of instances where im sitting down and they will just fly up to me, circle my body, and then fly away. Especially white/yellow butterflies.
I used to obsess about butterfly’s when I was young. That was the animal I drew most. As I grew older I stopped for some reason. 2weeks ago I went to a butterfly release party in the neighborhood for monarchs. Incidentally I used to raise them several years ago but stopped when I moved. During the release a butterfly climbed up my leg and all the way to the top of my head and would not fly away so I too it home. I committed that day to start raising them again. Isn’t that wierd!! I never would have guessed that the butterfly was my totem. Any thoughts on this?
