When lion spirit animals warn about challenges
This spirit animal could point to one of your weak spots or a difficult situation you’re experiencing. The lion animal spirit guide is perhaps showing you the way to deal with the issue and keep going with the courage it also embodies.
Lions could also represent an authority that may feel overpowering or a conflicting relationship with power and authority. When you see a lion as a spirit animal, it could symbolize external power, authority, forces that dominate or rule parts of your life. For instance, if you dream about a scar or threatening lion, it may remind you that you need to deal with an overbearing boss, partner or teacher in your waking life.
Lion spirit animal, symbol for anger & personal struggle
Seeing your lion spirit animal could be an invitation to control your temper or your moderate aggressive impulses. For instance, observe if you could really listen to what people have to say before striking back at them. Or explore how to express your needs or anger more openly and constructively to reduce your level of frustration.
If you are dreaming of being chased by a lion, it may represent a situation that brings about personal struggle. Common dream scenarios with threatening lions are as follows: A lion suddenly appears in your dream. You feel threatened by this wild animal known for devouring its prey with no mercy. The lion is now preying on you. You’re trying to escape, but it is still behind you, chasing you like you’re about to get devoured.
Dream interpretation: Being chased by a lion
This lion dream scenario is classic. Dreaming of being chased by a lion is one of the most common themes featuring this creature in the dream world. The lion chasing you generally connects to the struggle the dreamer is experiencing regarding feelings of anger or aggression in waking life.
The dream about your lion spirit animal could point to anger you may feel towards someone or aggression that is directed at you. Being chased by a lion in a dream could be a warning from your animal totem that you’re struggling with these feelings and how to express them. The lion totem could mean that you’re having difficulties dealing with a situation where someone is mean or aggressive with you.
Scary dreams about lions
Terrorized by your lion dream?
This kind of dream is expressing in strong images what you actually feel within. The meaning of your lion dream is symbolic and likely represents the intense psychological or emotional tensions you are experiencing in your waking life. Dreaming about a lion in this way is an invitation to examine what’s happening in your life that is causing tension and despair.
Most likely, you’re facing a challenging situation or behavior that is hard to comprehend at a conscious level and the lion appears as a spirit animal to help. It may be too hard to deal with or seem unacceptable to you and therefore is rejected out of your awareness, a bit like a protection, a defense mechanism. The presence of your lion spirit animal could be a warning to pay attention to a situation or person who’s creating worries or concerns for you.
On a positive note, a terrifying lion is likely indicating that you’re in the process of becoming more aware of the issues at hand. It works as a reminder that whatever is bothering you in your waking life needs to come out in the open to be dealt with. Bring forth the courage that lion totems symbolize.
Lion spirit animals in dreams: When the lion bites you
A lion that bites you in your dream could be a warning from your spirit animal and signify that you’re feeling overwhelmed in your waking life. The source of worries could be about feelings you or someone else may have or a situation that is particularly challenging. The image of the lion bite is a strong call to look at what’s going on in your life that could feel threatening or dangerous before it really “bites” you.
Another interpretation of such lion dream is to ask yourself what is dominating your life these days and see if you can bring more balance.
Scary images of lion spirit animals and the “shadow self”
When you are scared by the presence of your lion spirit animal, whether it’s in dreams or in waking life, this could be an invitation to look at your “shadow self”. The shadow self is a part of yourself that you prefer to keep “in the shadow” or the dark. In other words, a part of yourself you would hide or reject because it’s not likeable, you or other people think it’s unacceptable, not worthy, etc.
Your spirit animal indicates the need to look at these aspects of yourself and resolve the tensions inner conflicts may create. For instance, by just starting to acknowledge parts of your “shadow self”, looking at them, perhaps understanding what they are about, what they are connected with, you can start bringing a better understanding of yourself.

From last 5 years am having lions in my dreams. They try to attack people around and somehow I try to manage rescuing people or to guide them to protect themselves. All dreams that I had are similar wherein they try to attack people or they try to enter their houses. They neither had attack me nor have chased me yet am not very sure but they terrify the people with their presences they try to chase them and sometime as said why they try to enter their homes.
What that means??
I had a dream days ago, that i was a lioness and i was mating with a boa inside a anciet temple. It wasnt rape or something simular, it felt more like a action of love and will, like the snake was a old lover of mine and either he or me was shy to do what we were doing till now.He wasnt violent or something, he was extremely gentle .When the boa and i climax he pulled back and he hissed.I accompany him with a glorius roar…then everything fades and I wake up.
There was a lion pacing the front porch outside of my house. A very strong lion. I wasn’t scared. I noticed it was an adult female lion with a grown male lion who was her son. I was scared of him but not her. I felt like he was a loose rocket and didn’t know what to expect from him. She was solid. Protective of both him and me (and maybe other people). I had to pass them a few times to get out and trusted her energy. I was also making myself leave the house to go out and see some friends because I’d been feeling very isolated. I found a bar/restaurant that was upbeat and stayed there for a few hours. When I came home I felt a bit of fear because it was dark out and I was arriving vs leaving. I thought she might think I was an intruder. I made it inside and there were men who lived in the house who said I just needed to wear work gloves and if she came towards me she might bite but in a playful way and the only way to not get hurt is with work gloves. That scared me. Also I thought she could feel my fear of the male lion and become aggressive towards me because she might read my fear as wanting to harm him. I remember feeling – this is fair. Males are always protected and their aggression is excused. The thought of her coming towards me and not being aware that her bite could harm me. In the dream I was in awe of her presence and her maternal solidity. I really wanted to connect with that energy and feel protected by her, close to her. When I woke up I still felt her energy. Her ferocity, her uber-awareness, sense of knowing – all in her presence. I could see her muscles in the dream, as well. I felt sad that I woke up because I was really learning something about my fear with her and about learning to trust something very primal. I wish I was like her. Maybe I am or can develop that primal strength and knowing. Primal mothering. Maybe its an energy within me that I need to honour vs. negate and fear or maybe its an energy that I need to cultivate within myself. Pretty deeply felt dream. Definitely a medicine dream.
I meant to write ‘I remember feeling this ISNT fair.’

I was outside in a field and I noticed a lion it was roaming around swiftly enough that i was trying to avoid the lion so i took a sidewalk path back another way i dreamed some more and forgot about the lion later i was at my house (not my actual house) then a friend i just recently reconnected with in real life somehow enters the dream and asked if i saw a lion on the loose he leaves and i once again see the loin in the house and i make all the right moves to avoid/coax him into my closet (not my real life closet)and so i dream some more and forget about the lion again! then i just somehow realize that i left the lion in there for far to long and wasn’t sure if he escaped or died but i had an overwhelming feeling that he was alive and in the closet but i had to check so i open the door and moved a box then i saw his ribcage and his soft part of the body or what ever breathing very well… after i woke up i didn’t forget about the lion all day long
I had a dream that I was walking into a room. As I walked into the room there stood a huge lion. Very scared I was getting ready to run but just as I wanted to the lion leaped and got hold of me by biting me on my chest. I got the feeling of being overwhelmed and powerless the lion was in total control. I tried to push him away but he was too powerful
I was attending some sort of school. A large male lo was blocking the path thru the courtyard to the main building. When i reported this to the woman behind the glass she told me not to worry, he’s “weak”. I got angry with her and shouted for her to call security anyway. Just then, a bell rang and the courtyard filled with students. They all ignored the lion who was afraid, cowardly and scurried thru the crowds of kids looking for a way out. (I’ve been out of college since 1999)
I had a dream that my boyfriend and I were getting ready for christmas lunch in a chalet on his mom’s farm. When I looked out of the window I saw a lion approach the chalet and so obviously I ran to shut all the doors and windows but they wouldn’t lock. The lion came into the chalet and somehow we got him out. And he wondered off but then came back and started circling the chalet, trying to get in. We tried to get out but the windows were either too high off the ground or there was a dense bush full of thorns so we couldn’t pass through it. I was panicking and asking my boyfriend to phone his parents to come help us but he wouldn’t, and then when I grabbed my phone the battery was dying so I had to put it on charge. When I was doing that another lion got into the chalet through a opening in the wall but we managed to scare him off. I had gathered all the knives I could find in the chalet for our protection. Non of the doors were locking and it was really worrying me. We looked out of the window and more and more male lions kepts appearing, there were about 10 walking towards the chalet before I woke up.
I had a special bond with an old male lion. We love each other deeply (non romantically)No one else in the dream understood our bond. The young men of the group used him as target practice for their bows n arrow and laughed at me. The rest of the dream I was frantically looking go my lion friend and trying to convince others to help me. I even try to explain how it was possible that he n I were such great friends and they did grasp the concept of love and kindness to such a beast. As I was finding food for him to help heal him from his arrow wounds I found a huge field but under the dirt were thousands/if not millions of human skulls that I knew the people where responsible for not my lion.
I had a dream that I was a lion and was battling a wolf and there were a pack of wolves on the side just watching. the setting I believe looked like a desert with trees and rocks around from what I remember. and also the dream kinda looked matrix, 3d’ish. that’s the best way I can put it. does this symbolize anything? I wasn’t afraid or anything like that in the dream. I was calm but alert.
In my dream, my brother owned 2 pet lions and my children, nieces and nephews were playing around them, having a wonderful time. I was fearful for them and yelled at everyone to come inside. when the kids were inside I looked outside and saw my brother play fighting and winning against them, then they spoke and said something really intelligent and I felt ashamed because I judged them wrongly.
Also while the kids were playing the lions ferociously ate a huge lamb but the kids were still ok.
