Horse spirit animals, symbols for freedom of expression
Having a horse as a spirit animal points to how free you feel to express yourself in life. The horse is an animal that is domesticated by humans, but maintains a strong energy and drive of its own. As a power animal, it relates to your ability to express yourself freely and assertively in social environments such as work or school, or in closer circles of family and friends.
When reflecting on your spirit animal, if you see the horse running wild, it could be worth reflection on positive and negative meanings. On the positive side, a horse running free is a sign that your drive to be free and express yourself freely is strong and alive. On the negative side, a horse running wild could symbolize a part of your personality or emotions that are hard to manage and are running your life instead of you running it.

I had a dream last night I saw a white wild horse in the middle of the street and it was bucking, I turn left in to a housing development and see a grey spotted horse dead in the front lawn with its legs sticking up rigor mortise. As I reach the end of the street it’s a cul de sac and I go inside a high rise condo and look out on the balcony and see a black carriage being pulled by a single black horse. To me the person on the carriage was looking for the white wild horse. I forgot to mention, before running in the condo I’m yelling to my wife and 6yr old to run in the building because I was afraid the wild horse would trample them. At the same time I’m running carrying my 1 yr old. …weird dream. Does anyone have an explanation? Thanks.

Last night I dreamed that I was at the bottom of one on my favourite waterfalls- I watched at the top as I seen a mist start to flow over to top then from it emerged a team of horses- small brownish colored horses- most of them pulled up before leaping over the edge but a small group of them leaped off- I remember having a gut renching feeling that they wouldn’t survive – but it seemed to have happened in slow motion and looked so beautiful- they dove into the pool below- emerged from the depths and climbed out of the pool unharmed! I have my own interpretations from what I know is going on in my life but would care for some other opinions- Thankyou x

Hi Kristine,
My take on this is that it represents a fear or apprehension about losing vitality in a serious way – whether that is on an emotional, physical vitality or on whatever level, you will be the one who knows best what it is.
Look to the events or issues you were thinking about around the time you had the dream. Perhaps there’s something you were/are considering doing, or a work or family issue, or even a person, that you feel on a deep level may strip you of your vitality. Sometimes we just feel vague discomfort around a person or situation, and a dream arrives to clarify the feeling underneath, and to guide us. But is the fear warranted. Dreams uncover feelings, but are not necessarily predictors of the future. Situations and people can change. The most valuable thing about a dream is that it causes us to reflect, and try to make connections about our life events. Always it comes back to living in love from the heart. X
I dreamt that my family of three riding on one horse
My beloved Dad just passed away and I am struggling to go on. Last night I was shown a white horse standing still and looking serene in a dream, nothing else happened in the dream just this image. I believe spirit showed it to me. What does it mean?
A white horse as such represents your dad is showing you his life in the next life as sinless and positive. Oftentimes our loved ones use symbols to tell how they are feeling or to tell their story as they can’t use words. This is an amazing symbol for you to have received. It makes me smile!
Your dad is showing you his life is now sinless and positive. What a wonderful symbol to receive!

My husband is dying and he told me this morning that when he closes his eyes, he’s not asleep, just laying there, he sees a white flying horse. Does anyone know what that means?
Yes, white animals of any kind in a dream are often spirit animals from the other side. The horse is there to help him transition to the afterlife. white is also the final alchemical stage of transformation.
I think my spirit animal could be a horse because I’ve always been fascinated with horses since I can remember and only recently learnt about spirit animals. I was 4 years old and me and my dad went to a farm to go outback riding and while we were there I ran off and ran into the paddocks with 2 horses from what I can remember one was a mare and the other was a stallion. I was playing with the one letting it lick my hands while the other was licking the back of my neck and as I walked around the paddock they followed me . My dad called me and told me that the owner was concerned because the stallion was known to bite people that got close and the owner recently got stitches on his shoulder from the horse . Recently I went to a farm and was helping to hang the hay for the horses to eat and as I put the food up for the horse to eat the horse didn’t even pay attention to his food and then he turned around and stepped forward to me and so I gave him a hug as if he was saying hello. Does this mean a horse is my spirit animal ? I do have dreams of me riding a horse sometimes I can control them when all I want to do is canter along the arena they seem to go wild or I want to ride them but I just can’t get on but then lat night I dreamt I was on a horse and we were riding perfectly and cantering everywhere and everyone else was struggling . Can anyone give me advise to what it all means ?
Last night I dreamt my horse (I don’t own any horses, but rode them when I was very young) a shiny regal dark brown horse, was running along side the pick up truck that I was a passenger in. The driver was a man, the horse (a male) was in bliss running along my side and I reached out the window to touch him often. We were all heading to the stable, which was on acres of green luscious grass in the middle of nowhere.
Suddenly, my horse, still on the right side of the truck, pulled ahead, turned his head back to us like, “hurry! I’m excited to go home”
The driver wasn’t paying attention and ran over my horse. I jumped out of the truck, hysterical and ran to him, laying at his side, with his head in my lap, petting him. He couldn’t move and was bleeding and most of his body was broken.
I cried over him as he looked at me with his big brown eyes as if to say “I’m sorry”
I apologize for this being SO long, I’ve just never had a dream so heartbreaking and emotionally painful about a horse.
I could really use some interpretation.
Hi Erica,
To me your dream is symbolic of the loss of a treasured part of yourself – the part that is wild and free and full of life energy! And because the horse was male, it represents those qualities in action. You were in love with the horse because it was the real you, freed to be yourself.
The interesting bit is that you were not in charge of the vehicle, but a male person, who rode roughshod over your passion and vitality and destroyed it.
Depending on what’s going on in your life, the driver could be a person active in your life who likes to take charge, and is not overly concerned with trashing your dreams and passions.
Look at your life to see if there’s any way you are allowing someone else to control your creativity or sense of freedom, because it may be time for you to wrest control of the vehicle yourself.
I suggest you lie down, close your eyes and recreate the dream with you in the driving seat – maybe even get out of the vehicle and hop on the stallion’s back for the ride of your life!
All the best, Trish x
