Owl spirit animals as messengers of change
Owl spirit animals are symbolic of death in many traditions. In most cases however, it should not be taken literally: If the owl is associated with death, it can be viewed a symbolic death, meaning a transition in life, important changes that are taking place or about to happen.

When an owl appears in a dream, it could also mean that the intuitive part of you is calling for attention: Pay attention and listen to the subtle signs in your life, to what is important, but not necessarily obviously so.
The owl could also be an animal spirit guide offering you insight into a moment of transition. Since this totem animal is often associated with death, when an owl shows up in a dream, it could mean that you are receiving guidance regarding personal transformation and change.

It could also represent the spirit of a deceased family of a close friend.
The night owl was the animal associated with the Lord of Death in the Aztec tradition. There’s a similar meaning for the Celts who associated the owl’s spirit with an animal announcing death, especially if it flies into someone’s window while a sick person is inside the house. It was viewed as the spirit animal that would carry the souls of the departed to the underworld.

I am having a recurring dream about a pair of great horned owls. One is a male with actual deer antlers/horns. The other is female. In my dream they both land on my arm or shoulder. They fly in a house to do this. Then they leave. I think about this often although it is not disturbing. It does occupy my mind often. And I have it at least once a week. Any help interpreting it or some insight i would be thankful and grateful for. Thank you!
That is a very special dream. They are most certainly your Totems/Guides. I would look to deer, also, a gentle but powerful teacher. Your masculine side is calling, gentle and strong. You may want to volunteer to help care for owls at a wildlife refuge or rehab to be closer to actually owls. They are so different in person than other birds, and friendlier than one would expect. Also, they all have unique personalities. Are you a night owl? It could be a lot of creative or intuitive access comes to you at night. I would do a drawing or painting of the owls, or collage, in some way to connect and talk with them more, ask them questions before going to sleep, or anytime. Make friends with all things of the “night,” and depth and death. You are strong and fearless.
How I got my Indian name: Walking with White Owl
I was in meditation when my guide Snowy (A snowy white owl) flew in and landed on my left shoulder which was difference since he usually landed on my right side.
I looked at him and we started to fly together I then turned into a snowyowl.
We flew for a bit when a lot of white owls came together and flew with us.
As we flew back and I turned back into my body self. He looked at me and said “I’m Walking with White Owl”
Hence I knew it was my new Indian name since I was doing Shaman Work with some Indian friends.
Later I had three different owls hang out around my house.
Then I became with years of practice a healer of different forms from the natural, Indian, Reiki/Japanese energy balancing, crystal, auric field…After first healing myself.
Love and healing to you and yours, Walking with White Owl
I was sitting on my balcony and an owl flew onto a limb and just sat there for awhile lookong into my eyes…was a bit spooked but amazed by the creature. Was wondering altho…what does it mean?
It sounds like an “initiation,” or visitation from either your temporary Totem, or Totem bird/animal. You are lucky. Whenever something this powerful happens it is definitely a “sign/synchronicity,” as you can sense the power of it. I believe it came to tell you of an impending change in your life and as a blessing and ending of something, which would also mean a beginning, too. Whatever you were thinking about at the time or going through, pay attention to that as significant and follow your intuition beyond all rational thought. Also, you could have received a blessing/healing from the owl, as you can feel it infuse you with spiritual energy of the earth and sky. Whatever leaves your life at this time, let it go and don’t cling, knowing it was meant to be.
i was walking in winter on a highway 40 km through knee deep snow near the end of it an owl started hooting ahead of me kept hooting every once and a while until the hooting was behind me cause of the distance i walked. i kept walking until the hooting was gone than after abit the hooting was ahead of me again i never saw the owl or it fly anywhere this continued until i could see where i was heading i was going. i was going to visit my grandparents for the first time by my self. after a week long vist with my grand patients i went home and not long after that my grandfather died. the owl made sure i got to where i was going and also told me my grandfather was going to die probly from the very start of the journey.
I come from the mikmaq owl clan ( Googoo / ku`ku`kwes) I take a lot of pride in my last name and I one of the last original mikmaq( Micmac)clan names , everyone name had a purposes or spiritual meaning or job. One of the stories I was told by my elder was the meaning of our name and the stigma people connected the owl with death . I was told the owl was a traviller between worlds the physical and spiritual world and the owl was a messagener and worker for the creator , the owl was a guide to help the spirits that passed on to help guide their sport back to the spirt world and to the creator ( the creator of all both heaven and earth), they say the last thing we see in this physical world before our spirit goes back is an owl and the image is engraved in our spirits and when we are reincarnated back into the physical world the connection with the death and the owl is still with us.
PLEASE help! Dream interpretation needed. Last night before going to sleep I acknowledged my Barn Owl guides and wished them dry and warm through the stormy night. Then I dreamt that they were surrounding my house and staring at me, as I went through the day (in the dream) I kept seeing them surrounding me. In the dream I thought it meant I was going to die by the end of the day and was very fearful. I guess I didn’t know how to interpret their presence. When I woke in the morning I was glad it was a dream, but now I really want to know what it all meant.
Thanks.
Since I was a young child I’ve been having a reoccuring dream. In the dream I am surrounded owls of all colours, shapes and sizes and they are all speaking to me at once and I am having a hard time to desiffer what they are saying. I am overcome with a sense fear and overwhelmingness. If you have any sugestions as to what this could mean please feel free to reply.
I was having a bit of crisis in my life recently. I always felt I had a strong connection with owls…anyway, I had a pretty much mental breakdown one night and decided to go hiking in the hills of a national park not far from my house. As I was walking (almost 2 miles) I still had not see any animals. Suddenly along the trail an owl was standing right in the middle of the trail. I shined my flashlight on him and he didn’t move, just stared at me. I stood there for almost 5 minutes looking at him until I decided I was going to continue on. I started walking and the owl still did not move. I was less than 10 feet from it and knelt down. I shined my light on the owl and it stared back at me. It had two different colored eyes, one yellow and the a cloudy grey. We sat there looking at each other for what seemed like forever. Finally, I stood up from my kneeling position and it flew away. The next day I made a huge decision in my life and I now know for sure that the owl is my spiritual animal.
One evening in the woods, an owl, most likely a Great Horned owl, landed in a nearby tree. I mimiced its call, and a second one soon joined in. Another time, I was on a roller coaster, and when it was pulling back into the part where you get on and off, I noticed a young owl sitting on one of the beams. When the roller coaster went past, it blinked, then stared at me. I believe it was a young barred owl.
Wow one time I saw an owl pass by me like 5 times then I said hello and then it squawked back, I think was a barn owl…anywho your spirit animal is probably an owl
my mom saw an owl eat a chicken once
Ahahaha, I love you!
