The frog totem, symbolic of cleansing
It is said that the frog is symbolic of the cleansing. You can call on the frog spirit to support you in clearing negativity and “toxic” energies. The frog being associated with water, it may be a good spirit animal to call for emotional release.
Perhaps it indicates you need to “detoxify and take care of your health differently. Or it encourages you to release your emotions or carefully at how you spend your energy in relationship to others or some matters of concern in your life.
Cleansing might also mean that the frog spirit animal inspires you to renew your perspective or vision. If the frog shows up in your life as a spirit guide, it may encourage you to clear old opinions and beliefs to adopt a new stance or perspective.
The frog spirit animal and rebirth
The frog totem symbolizes the cycles of life, in particular the rebirth stage. Its own journey through life, from tadpole to the adult state, reminds us of the many cycles of transformation and rebirth in our lives.
The symbolism of the frog as animal associated with birth and rebirth can be traced in Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and other cultures from antiquity. The frog was a popular symbol for fertility, as well as rebirth or resurrection. For example, in the Ancient Egypt mythology, the frog was associated with resurrection; the Roman Venus, goddess of Love, was often depicted with a frog.
The frog, symbol of transformation
The frog is an amphibian and goes easily from water to earth during its life. By extension, it has been often revered as a symbol of transition. If you see the frog as your animal totem or spirit guide, you may be called to experience change in your life. Those changes might be with regards to how you lead your life and can also be of spiritual nature.
Call on the frog spirit animal to guide you through times of transition and help you smoothly go from one state to the next. It will support your transformation or metamorphosis in a subtle yet powerful way.
The frog spirit, mystery and magic
The ability to go from water to earth is characteristic of the frog. Those who have the frog as a spirit animal or totem might be inclined to walk between planes, whether they are physical, spiritual or emotional, and enjoy playing with the magic of life and nature.
This animal being active at night, it is often seen as the favorite animal of the arts of the dark and witchcraft. By extension, this totem animal is associated with life mysteries and familiarity with the unknown.
The frog totem and the affinity with the water element
In the Native American tradition, the frog is often seen as a rain maker. Many shamanic traditions call the frog in connection to the rain and to control the weather patterns.
Since the frog is strongly associated with the water where she spend a lot of her life, this spirit animal is also connected to moon energy and the moon goddess. The fact that it’s active at night reinforces this association. For those who feel an affinity with the frog as personal totem, you may be at ease with the world of intuition, feminine energies, and the magic of nature and the elements.
Dreaming About Frogs
Perhaps the most well know symbolic meaning of the frog is to look beneath the surface. Is there really a prince under the surface? The frog may be asking you to look deeper. What appears to be a curse, may indeed be a blessing after all!
Other meanings are success and contentment. Whether the frog is in a pond or on your plate, it may be a symbol of being content and successful in your sphere of expertise.
The frog is also a symbol of fertility and abundance. Not only do the young tadpoles resemble sperm in appearance, but there are usually lots of them. This is often associated with abundance in your life.

I came home from work last night and found a little green frog in my room, I’m not sure what it means. I have been googling to try to get some answers. I’m about to embark on a new business venture. So I do not know if that is the meaning of the frog in my room.
Hi Merna. There is all your knowledge there. Someone once said that they were sort of tired of all people discussing their experiences. When someone says something like that it can be a good lesson, and a good teaching. People wonder about these sorts of things. Certainly your life is as it is. Truly I wonder about other examples you know specifically about the frog in your room. Did anything significant happen to you in childhood that may have had something to do with it. Was there any other animals involved. A good quick question is has anything happened to you in your life, maybe when you were young that symbolized any meaning. Maybe, and more importantly, were you particularly kind and careful of any other animal in direct reference to this frog in your room, and recently.
Movement moves as Spirit, or else universe. These words are great to explain how that is. However there is knowledge there about how this is for even you, as you are not separate. Sure your name is Merna and you know your life and can communicate with words.

My partner sent me a photo while at work of an emerald tree frog on the door frame of our office, it was very cute. On the way home a white lipped tree frog was crossing the road after the rain in town. I decided to pick it up and move it so it didn’t get run over, it hopped from my hand to my shoulder. I decided it should come home with me back to the rain forest we live in, it rode most of the way on the steering wheel of my car. When we got home I carried it outside and it left me to hop into the bird bath where I left it. The frog from the office had disappeared but turned up while I was showering to go to bed near the hand basin. We put it outside and thanked it for visiting. I thought this might be nice to share here after reading up and refreshing my memory on frog spirit energy.
That’s very touching when i come to think about it!
Why the frog always came to my bathroom. I’m bathing naked.
wow Kozman, great moves. keep it up. proud of you
Woke up to find a little bright green tree frog on my way from bedroom to kitchen just near the laundry room. I’ve read it represents significant change and in a couple weeks I have a decision to make that will change my life. Ive asked my son’s father to move out at the end of this month. So now, I am confused whether I should go through with it or just stick it out even though I’m miserable and all I do is yell and fight with him. The reading said I might need to change my perspective but I don’t know if I can do that with him anymore. There’s no respect anymore….thoughts?
I read the frog symbol as saying you are going through change and transition. I have similarly just had to end a relationship where we fought every few days. If your not happy something would need to change whether it’s how you both are handling things or whether you make a split and move forward in a different direction. I wish you well and know there are prayers coming your way.
I hope your choice went well but if not it is never to late to change it. Trust your intuition over your heart and head and you will always be on the right path for you.
If your life is filled with more hate, anger, sadness and general bad things it is time for a change. Because if you are not at peace within yourself, you will accumulate more of the negativity. You need to take care of yourself so that way you can continue to care for those you love.
You are in a period of transition and transition does not happen over night… it takes time… but every happy, peaceful moments that you have will grow and you can add the past into your personal life lessons library. Inherently you know what is right and wrong…. you hear your intuition but listen to the conflicting reasons why that is not a right choice. Do not let anyone or yourself justify why you don’t follow your intuition.
We as a society have learned how to justify things we know are wrong with our soul.
Moving forward is one of the rules of our being…. so move forward not by resisting but by giving yourself permission to move into the unknown…those who are meant to be on your path will stay there and better it… all others need to slip into the past.
Good luck with all you do and the choices you make.
Think about all the things you could do if the word failure did not exist…
I’m sitting outside this morning reading. And all of a sudden up frog falls from the sky and lands on the table where I am sitting. So what Google what does a frog symbolize and I read your comment. I recently lost my father and I have been very sad. So reading your comment help me to realize what’s going on in my life. I know that I am in a time of transition and I just have to embrace that. Everything that are red today just reinforces everything that I’m going through it and I thank you for being there. Namaste
My spirit animal is a frog and I’m highly spiritual I have the 4 Clairvoyance that are associated with psychics but every time I’m truly upset we get really bad weather weather that isn’t that common in my town but when I’m genuinely happy it’s bright and sunny regardless of what the local weather says any ideas on what this all means im only 21
I’ve always felt like my emotions could alter the weather too, like it was a reflection…
I always looked at that in reverse, that the weather was about to change and my psychic ability to feel the change coming led to the changes in my mood. Wet weather on the way, start to feel sad, stormy weather anxious, enter weather hibernate, sunny weather happy and windy weather restless.
I have felt an affinity to frogs for years. I had a pond and always had at least one frog who made it it’s home. I have frog statues all throughout my home. I have never considered frog to be a totem, as I do shamanic work and it has never appeared in nonphysical reality but last night I dreamed that a huge frog was under my clothes and it humped out and then a bunch of smaller frogs did the same thing. I have known that frogs represent transformation and walking between the worlds.I just felt like I wanted to see others perspective. Good information here!
I lost a partner a few years ago and when it happened very soon after a tiny frog would come to my bedroom and then hang around the shutters- even took photos It would come on my birthday ECG and just this evening this has been going for give years and in two different homes.he has been here for a few hours we sort of helped him out of the window he is so tiny rather than risk squashing him in the house somewhere. The odd thing about this little lime green creature is he is exactly the same as the type of frogs that would be on cards we would send each other. Do I like to imagine it is him. Let me know your thoughts I guess most people would just think me bonkers
Not at all bonkers! I feel that it’s a sign from your loved one!!❤️
I believe so.
No your not bonkers! A similar thing happened to me. But involving a white owl.i believe it is the other just letting us know they are here with us. Not bonkers, but actually very sweet.
Great thoughts
I am sitting here now with a large frog on my lap. He seems content. I am not restraining him and will not try to keep him from leaving. I am so curious about what message he brings me. What change is here? I once had a dream that a young penguin journeyed across the sea to bring me a frog.
Most of time i hear the sound of frog only and i cant see it. This sound i hear in my room at night mostly and sometimes during the day.can u pls explain the meaning.
Went to walk my dog. Walking thru the laundry room area a frog. Jumped in front of me the jumped on the washing machine and climbed up the side and sat on top of the washing machine. Then Made its self flat like couldn’t see in the light.
I read that in medieval times physicians thought that the secretions of a frog could help heal a sore throat.
Then there is the saying, “what do you have a frog in your throat?” meaning difficulty speaking, possibly due to a sore throat, and the croakiness associated with it, possibly for emotional reasons too.
I rescued a tree frog that hitched a ride on my car today. I caught him in my son’s water container and took him across the huge parking lot to what just happened to be a large conservation pond right near the store I was going to. He is a lucky frog.
I am a frog. I live between Heaven and hell. My spirit lives in the space between Earth and heaven.I am a true Shaman.

– my dream
I was sitting on my couch facing the living room table. On this table there was a small 4x3x4 container filled with water and sticks. I notice a brown frog sitting on a wooden platform. It was looking at me and I at it. I got this uneasy feeling from it. I sensed it was going to attack me.
I slowly leaned forward to get the lid. When I did, the frog lunged at my neck. Once it did I started to shake and convulse. With my hands around my neck trying to remove this frog, my head rocked back and forth.
It was forcibly taking something from me. I felt something. Once it finished, it released and swooped down my chest. Then it disappeared under the blankets.
When I woke up, my heart rate was elevated and I immediately put my hands on my neck to check for physical damage. None was found.
My energy level after getting out of bed was really low. It look me a bit to regain my bearings. Overall though, I felt lighter.
I immediately thought about a spirit animal. I grabbed my phone and did some research on the frog spirit animal.
Why spirit animal? Because earlier in the day I noticed that my Indian astrological sign was a wolf. After researching I learned a little about spirit animals. I found and listened to a Dream Dance song, which is suppose to connect you to a spirit animal that you need.
Any thoughts?
love that
