I think the fox is my spirit animal but not 100% sure. I remember having a dream and the fox was in it.The dream itself had a lot of meaning since it had to do with something I was dealing with at the time. Also the one and only time I’ve seen a fox in a natural habitat, we stared at each other for a few seconds before it went own it’s marry way. Whenever I miss seeing a fox, I get really upset and when I do see it, I get happy as if seeing a long lost friend.

Ive always had an extremely strong connection to the fox. After seriously sitting down and seeking my spirit guide, it wasnt long until in my meditation a somewhat dirty male fox came up and bit me in the ribs, my actual side started hurting whilst sitting there. Is it common for spirit guides to be hostile?

He sat with me after I asked him to stop; my reaction during my meditation was to strike him but instead I offered my palm and asked him to stop. What does it mean?

      dreams are enough Rowan

    • Silverveil July 13, 2013 at 8:51 am - Reply

Dreams can be enough, but be mindful of other animals. If the fox remains while other animals come and go in your dreams, it’s most likely your animal guide. There will likely be other animals that will return repeatedly in your dreams as well, so keep an eye on which one stays more often and/or longer than others. It will take patience, but I promise it will be worth it.

I once saw a fox on a golf course while at work and I was about 20 feet away and we looked into each others’ eyes for about 30 seconds before it ran away.

I just had to shoot a fox out in my back yard today due to distemper and suffering. It broke my heart – I dug a 3 foot hole and buried him under my window by my home and planted wild flower seeds over the site – went on a long bike ride and came home and cried for 15 minutes. I’ve never been that close to a fox before – and to see such a powerful creature out of it’s stealth swift self walking towards me for help…I could due no more than to help. The animal rescue center came out and were the most disappointing factor of it all – dis-hearten people who told us just to wait until he was lethargic enough to pick him up and toss him in the garbage can. Funny enough I just finished teaching my 3rd grade class about the fox mythology and I just could not bare to ‘toss’ this spirit in the garbage. He needed to be recognize and honored thank you great fox spirit for your grace and helping me over come obstacles in that moment and in my life*

Where I live in Holyoke Mn. I’ve seen a fox go up and down the road, I watched the fox outside my bedroom window. Off in the distance. I could see that fox stand there as of it were waiting for something. My cat follows. the fox.My other cat did the same. Every time I go up north to my camping spot I see a fox off in the distance. or on the side of the rd. The trickster that fox is reminds me of what I pulled in my days.

no it means the fox is telling you to pay attention, be alert there’s a lesson coming or someone looking to use you……. to find your true spirit animal you gotta well, take a lot of these quizzes, the most frequent animal you receive as the answer, read all the descriptions if it sounds exactly like you……is yours

        • Silverveil July 13, 2013 at 8:55 am - Reply

The quiz part of your advice isn’t exactly sound, but the first part about the fox telling this person to pay attention and be alert sounds plausible.

When we first bought our house we watched fox pups grow up behind our back yard. It was a time of great change for us since our son was born a few months later. I saw the foxes as a good omen, and we have had a wonderful life here. I haven’t seen the foxes in years. Now, we are moving again- across the country. It’s a huge change, and sure enough, two days before our move, the fox was out back running around. . . I’m looking forward to more good fortune.

I have known my fox for many decades and having his guidance has saved my life countless times he has taught me a great deal and has helped me in my journey through this life a well as others…. Yes I’ve gotten his attributes the funny part is the fact that he has a link to my Chinese and western zodiac signs year of the dog and Leo. I’ve been happy throughout my life because of my animal guide.

Answer for spirit fox: meditate. Ask it to reveal itself in dreams.

    • Silverveil July 13, 2013 at 9:01 am - Reply

Although one’s animal guide is often linked to their place of birth or place they spent most of their childhood, it can also be attributed to one’s ancestry (say, you have continental Native American blood in you, or you’re the first generation of your family to be born outside of the North American continent, then that could influence what your animal guide may be).
Ultimately, though, Kitsune’s advice to meditate and ask your animal to reveal itself to you is the best course of action in finding out what your animal guide is.
